Hello! My name is Krystal, and I am a natural light photographer based out of Ventura County in Southern California. I am a mother to a beautiful little girl named Maya, who is my everyday inspiration, and reason for falling in love with photography.  I specialize in families and children, and shoot on location. My goal is to capture the personality and spirit of your child, rather than an overly posed portrait. I want you to be able to look back at your photos years from now and remember who your child was, not just what they looked like. Feel free to give me a call or an email and let me know what you are looking for! =)

This gorgeous family was the winner of my cutest kids contest!! When they got out of the car I was super excited because they were dressed SO cute! Mom is a hairdresser, so of course they had their hair perfectly done as well! =) We met up at a little park nearby, and after a short hike the girls kicked off their boots and started exploring the creek. Baby M was a bit hesitant at first, but then climbed right down with her sisters. I was surprised to find out that I was taking their first family photo since Baby M had been born! I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek, and your entire gallery should be up soon!

Editing a few more sessions, including one of my own, so stay tuned because I have a lot more coming!

xoxo

The session started off slow, little J wasn’t too excited about having me follow him with a camera, but after he found out he could play soccer while I was shooting made him relax a bit. Baby G was definitely the calmest sweetest baby I have ever met, the kind that make my job super easy! They were definitely an athletic family, and while Baby G was holding and playing with a football, little J amazed me by running and kicking the soccer ball on the field better than any toddler Ive seen!

Hope you guys enjoy the sneak peek, your full gallery will be up by the end of the night! =)

Although this was a quick session, (we almost cancelled due to the weather),  it was definitely a fun one! Little A is really one of the smartest kids I have ever met, asking questions and learning the answers almost the entire time. She was very fast, so we started quietly searching for bunnies around the area =) . We were so excited to find one lone fall tree to get some fall type photos, and she loved collecting leaves and throwing them in the air.  I was excited to find a pepper tree as well, since they are some of my favorites to photograph in. Our time flew by quickly, and we knew the park closed at 5, but were a few minutes late getting out. When we walked to the gate, we saw that it was padlocked shut! Thankfully there was a foot of space to squeeze little A under the gate, but the three of us had to climb the fence! At least now I know to make sure and leave early! =)

Thanks for such a great session guys, and I can’t wait to shoot our next one!

P.S.  Thank you Sarah for these little hearts….I love them!

About a month ago we traveled back east to visit my family in PA, but while we were back there I just knew that I had to find a way to go see Sarah again. Sarah and I met online a few years ago, right after Maya was born. We started out on a few creative teams together while scrapbooking, then realized we had SO much in common, despite being on opposite sides of the country. We both not only had a love of scrapbooking, but a love of photography, and just happened to have the same camera. Sarah taught me much of what I know today, not only the technical side of taking photographs, but the creative side. She can edit photos like no one Ive seen, and had since made a business from it! She makes and sells actions, and honestly, I have NO idea what I would do with out her! =)

Our first night in Mystic we met up for ice cream, then went to the same duck pond we went to last year, and snapped a few photos while the kids played and fed the ducks, and we got a chance to catch up!

Then the next day was our day we planned for pictures! We woke up, looked out the window, to see a major thunderstorm! =( I was in shock, but within an hour it was sunny and beautiful! Crazy east coast weather huh?  Gio, Maya and I spent the day exploring Mystic, until Sarah’s husband got off work then we met up to follow each other. We met up at Starbucks, and I swear, the second I got out of the car and walked to hers, it started POURING!!! I really couldn’t believe it! I was drenched within seconds of being in the rain. We decided to stick it out and im so glad that we did. By the time we had gotten to out first location, the sun had come out again.I was so excited to take photos on Sarah’s bridge, I had fallen in love with a shoot she did of her daughter on it awhile back.

More photos coming soon in the next post!

When Beth contacted me about taking photos of little M before her 4 month birthday I was so excited! When she told me they lived by Lake Casitas, I knew it would be such an exciting session. We got there a bit early with the sun higher than expected, but it gave little M a chance to to eat and relax, and by the time the sun had lowered, she was full of smiles and ready to go!! The setting was beautiful, the light was perfect, and they were the cutest little family ever! I couldn’t have asked for anything more! Mom not only brought a perfect quilt, but she also brought tons of adorable dresses, and she makes headbands to match! It was so hard to choose which photos to put up. but here are a few of my favorites! I still have SO many more to edit, I hope you guys like them!
